As you can see this year we have scaled the outreach down to leave most of the responsibility to the attendees.   We have tried to give you as much detail as possible in order to help you plan accordingly. (See schedule below).   This will give you a jump start on how to prepare your teams.

I would like to warn any and all team leaders to make sure that everyone is "prayed up" and "cleaned up" BEFORE they go to Galveston Island.  All the teams need to come self sufficient in all areas from leadership to food.  We will provide tracts for the teams and they can be picked up at First Baptist Church in Galveston on Saturday. Church Address (822 23rd St, Galveston, TX 77550 right behind the Salvation Army off Broadway).
     
Again, please understand that our leadership structure will not be like years gone by and that your basic necessities need to be taken care of by YOU! 

Here are a few things to remember: 
1.  When you park at First Baptist Church make sure you lock all your valuables in your trunk. 
2.  Get cell numbers from your team members and friends in the case that you get separated. 
3.  Make sure everyone on your team has an understanding of the next"rally point" and the time to meet (very important) and also any plan for leaving the island. 
4.  Bring a small backpack or wagon for tracts, water, food and other supplies.   We strongly suggest that you NOT eat from the vendors for many reasons. 
5.  Dress according to the weather and remember how long you might be on your feet. 
6.  Always work in teams of two or three and remember to watch out for any ladies and children who are with you.  Men should minister to men and women should minister to women. 
7.  In the streets DO NOT use power equipment to harass people.  Not only is this an offense to the Kingdom but it could mean a trip to jail if not done right! 
8.  DO NOT allow any rebellious people to go with you....NONE!

Sunday- February 14th: CHILDREN'S PARADE OUTREACH

8-9 am: Continental Breakfast ($5 RSVP by Feb. 8th)

9 am : Children's Parade Outreach Meeting. For everyone going to the island on Sunday this meeting is mandatory!

Children's Outreach Participants will be dismissed after praise & worship service.

3:30 pm: We will return from the island.

NOTE: Be prepared for a smaller scale event this year due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Ike. There will continue to be plenty of opportunity for ministry so do not shrink back from coming “prayed up & ready.” But do come aware that this year will be different from years gone by.
